Create Meaningful Change - Movement As Medicine

Lynne Scott’s presentation encompasses, finding a balance in life between movement and self-care, to guard one against the many life challenges and the negative effects of varying lifestyles, or not knowing how to move correctly to help reduce these negative effects, be it at the workplace or at home.

If we are unaware of how we move, or move without knowing which muscle groups to utilise correctly, to either help us to release pain trigger points, to keep stronger, or look after our mental health, we suffer the negative effects on the body and mind.

Candidates will be motivated by Lynne’s advice and by her practical demonstrations, which are given throughout her presentation. Tips are shared, which are life changing.

Lynne believes, that whether you are mentally exhausted, stressed, have anxiety, sit or stand for long periods at work, or have many home chores that tire you, or that cause you pain, as well as with living possibly a sedentary lifestyle we lose quality and quantity of life.

We need all need to pay our own personal subscription fee of get-up and active, but the right way. If not, life can be tougher on us.

If we don’t want to lose the ability to be at work all day without pain, play with our children, prevent falls and be unable to go up and downstairs without support, or simply to carry our shopping bags, book Lynne.

To think that exercise is too expensive, a program or intervention of movement is too costly or time consuming to help the mind and body, consider the alternative, loss of functional capacity, financial loss, time taken sitting in doctors’ rooms, missing out on family celebrations, unable to go to work, or simply not being able to meet up with friends.

Bottom line, we all need physical fitness and need to value it and make it a priority. A band aid is not the solution, not all medicines in a pill form can solve health issues, yet exercise can do it. Lynne believes we need to view movement as essential to our bodies and it doesn’t need to be overly strenuous. Knowing simply how to stretch, can solve many health concerns, both mentally and physically.

Lynne educates, and encourages!  One or two of her moves that anyone can do,  helps one along the way, working towards better daily living, at home and in the workplace.

  • I want to give you knowledge to fined renewed motivation and confidence.
  • Show you how to apply better methods of exercise.
  • Prevent future negative health concerns.
  • Show you how to move more safely and with more consciousness.

Not all exercises suit everyone, moves can affect the body negatively, but moves can also ‘be tweaked’ to work positively.

Lynne believes it is about time we reframe and rethink exercise, for exercise to be a means of self-care.

Secondary and the bonus is looking better.

Giving yourself physical and mental exercise, should be part of one’s life.

Mental health is imperative, it is weaved into the physical, an intricate part of it, and symbiotic.

We all need constant reminders to motivate us, but whether you start the day with your self-care at work, or at home, once you begin your brain will start to stack these small wins.

Lynne wants to challenge and motivate individuals to get movement in everydaynot only for the self, but for loved one’s, being more happy around colleagues and family members and with greater knowledge on how to look after the body and mind .

Exercise is a benefit that goes well beyond, it offers emotional mental, and spiritual self-care.
