If your parents are on the heavier, more weighty side, you run a higher risk of following in their footsteps.
There is a genetic predisposition to obesity and this makes it more difficult for some people to lose weight. BUT, there is the upside and no excuses; exercise can reduce genetic predisposition by over 40%.
You can fight kilo creep with exercising 2x a week for an hour or for 30 minutes of being active a day, whether it is walking briskly, joining an exercise class or simply doing gardening.
Tips to losing more weight:
Wake up a little earlier each day; you will force your body to burn 20% more fat.
Increase your output with exercise and brisk walk for 30 minutes an extra day a week.
Pulling the weeds out, use your larger muscle groups, such as your legs not your back. You will burn more calories and keep your back from straining.
Drink hot water with lemon upon rising.
Eat darker and heavier breads and cut back to no more than to two slices a day. Pile your bread with cottage cheese, tomato and salad.
