Refined and concentrated sugars are honey, sugar and molasses, although there are a certain number of honey’s and molasses on the market, that are less refined and are good for our bodies, these honey’s can be one of the best alternatives to eating chocolate and lollies which are high in bad sugars, causing overload on the pancreas and kidneys, which result in disease.
Remember that sugar and especially refined sugars and foods are higher in fats, are not nutritious and do not feed the body the nutrients it needs, Less sugar taken over time will make refined foods less palatable.
Fat and sugar show a reciprocal relationship in diets. Diets high in sugar are lower in fat, especially saturated fat.
Restricting sugar is followed by higher fat consumption – be aware that a lot of fats are poor sources of nutrients.
Remember fats are found not only in your burger you buy from your takeout, but in your avocado and your almond butters instead of normal table butter or cooking butter and oils.
The low sugar diet is not necessarily more nutritious either, as some good sugars with all our micronutrient contents for example calcium and riboflavin, can be found in higher content natural sugar fruits and dried fruits. Plan your meals and watch your sugar intake and your intake of the right sugars for optimal health.
