Fructose and burning fuel

The body cannot use fructose as fuel. Fructose must be changed into glucose first.
Fructose is found in many processed foods, therefore when fructose is over consumed, it affects our insulin and glucose levels.
About 20% of your glucose arrives at your liver.
We need to look after our liver, we only have one and cannot exist without it. Fat storage and excess fructose sends our liver into overdrive, working hard, and this is not good for our health.
Excess consumption of fructose, drives your liver to make additional uric acid, this accumulation of uric acid causes gout. It causes high blood pressure and inhibits nitric oxide, the body’s natural blood pressure lowering agent.
Excess consumption leads to blood fat problems of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood. This excess creates inflammation of the liver, which then stops our insulin working properly, which then in turn holds onto our fat.
